At Melvin Village Marina we pride ourselves on having boats that are clean and safe. They are adequately powered for a day of cruising or water sports. The boats are well maintained and inspected yearly by the NH Department of Safety. Our goal is to provide you with a worry free rental experience.
We don't want to overwhelm you with reading rules and instructions. It is advisable however to take note of all information we post on this page and as you book your rental. Your rental experience will benefit from it.
We only rent for full days or multi-days. We advise you not to wait till the last minute to reserve for your vacation as popular weeks fill up early. We do not do half day or hourly rentals.
Multi-day bookings are typically priced per day with a discount for multiple days over three. (1-3 day rentals in July and August are bookable only two weeks or less in advance.)
Need a lake chart for your smartphone? Click here to download Navionics.
Boat Rentals are not available from our Ossipee location. Boats are only rented from our Melvin Villge location and must be used on Lake Winnipesaukee or Crescent Lake (see below).
The renter will be required to sign and initial a Rental Agreement before taking possession of any rented boat.
No NASBLA or NH Boat Cert? Take the test at the marina office the day of your rental or anytime we are open for rentals.
(Summer: M-Sun 9-4 $20 pass or fail.)
You should download and study the NH Test Booklet below if you want a good chance at passing the test.
Click here to download (5MB) the New Hampshire Boaters Guide of Boating Laws & Responsibilities to study for your test.

At the end of your rental if the boat, accessories, engine, and drive don't suffer any damage or loss we will not charge any loss. We will check the boat over with you before you leave the dock and again when you return. We will be happy to do an on-water demo with you if you are uncertain of the operation.
We offer insurance in the form of a Damage Waiver which limits physical liability to $1,000. Insurance does not cover damage to other boats, property, personal injury, or general liability.
Single-day Damage Waiver cost is $125. Multiple days to six days will be pro-rated at purchase. Seven-day damage waiver cost is $350.
The boat comes with a full tank of fuel, but must be returned with a full tank. You may refuel at our docks or at another facility. The customer will be charged for the fuel used if the fuel tank is not full at the time of return.
Daily rentals are from 9am-4pm. Weekly rentals are to be picked up on the rental start day after 11am and returned by 4 pm on the last day of rental. We want you to enjoy your time on the water, but we also need time to get the boat ready for our next renter. We ask that you return the boat on time. If not, you will be charged a minimum of $500 and an additional $100 per hour thereafter.
